.... Here is some information! I hope this helps! I just want to say that these are not my words...but ones that I have in a book somewhere in my Metaphyscial Library! *S* I scanned them into my hard drive for a friend month ago...*S*..and now they're there for use again! *S*

Here goes:

The Grand Cross…also known as the Quadruplicities….

The Quadruplicities are expressed in other areas of the birth chart through the division of the 360 degree circle by Four as in the meaning given to the fourth harmonic, the "square" aspect, being the angular distance between two planetary bodies of 90 degrees and the configuration of the Grand Cross and the T/Square, which are often referred to as the "Dilemmas". Every chart contains each of the Dilemmas. They represent the human condition and all the issues that a human being can possibly encounter on this planet, for our personalities are shaped by the circumstances of our lives. It is also true to say that character is destiny, since we create and shape our lives according to the calibre of our characters. In the interpretation of an individual Dilemma it is important to note that the conditions and problems in question operate simulataneously giving pertinent clues concerning the overall life pattern.

The ability to tackle a Dilemma positively and overcome its problems to a large extent tends to be more prevalent where any of the Cardinal signs or houses are involved, for the challenges are usually of a personal nature. Aries - the need of space to be oneself; Libra - the partner's needs (whether business or marriage and often both at the same time!). Cancer - childrens' needs and one's duty to parents as their child, the home, which could involve anything under and including the roof! Capricorn - the need to pursue, as well as the demands of a career or position in life.

Those with a Fixed Dilemma tend to be most prone to conditioning, for the problems mainly involve the emotional or traditional. Taurus - the need for tangible evidence of security; Scorpio - the need to share fully; Leo - the desire to prove oneself and to ensure the perpetuation of self through the offspring; Aquarius - the surrender of self for the needs of society.

The Mutable is the most difficult of the Dilemmas to control due to it's elusive nature, for the challenges involved are all intangible, giving rise to much discontent: Gemini - too many ideas and plans often lacking control of the mind or tongue; Sagittarius - boundless enthusiasm, hope or optimism and often the genuine quest for a suitable religion or code of behaviour; Virgo - the need for truth as a reality and the realization of perfection; Pisces - the incurable romantic, the wish to believe in someone or something, the martyr.

 Hummberry ... a grand cross is 4 (or more) planets all forming a Square in your chart. Sometimes called a Grand Square.

Each "corner" of the grand square is a Planet square (90 degrees). Generally these are classified by the cardinality of the signs where the planets are placed -- Fixed, Cardinal, Mutable. Did your informant tell you which type of grand square you have ? Each type has it's own pathology *grin*

Sometimes a grand cross will not be all one type of cardinality too. If you want you can post your birthdate, time and place here these lots of people who will be able to comment on the chart.

What else ? A grand square energy is like being trapped in a box of your own design. The key energies are looped in a tight (square) perimiter so the native goes round and around in the same pattern. The "solution" recommended is to let go and CENTRE oneself. Meditation for instance.

Sometimes a planet in a grand square can be linked to someother planets. This can either cause the 'external' planet to "feed" the big square. Or it can be an escape from the "tyranny" of the grand square [shrug] but like anything else eventually overuse causes it to become part of the problem and not the solution. Centring is very important.
